Eat My Jewelry

Carolyn Tillie makes incredible jewelry, inspired often by what she eats. Luckily for me, she was an early Rancho Gordo customer and lately she's been inspired by beans.

Susan, our Operations manager, pinned the piece on to her blouse and all of a sudden she was humming Moon River and thinking who needs Breakfast at Tiffany's when you can have lunch at Rancho Gordo?

I dig beans.

  1. I actually went to Tiffany’s earlier this year, and my favorite thing was a silver bean… I wondered if you could reproduce something similar without infringing on copyright.

A friend with me said, “Isn’t Tiffany’s inspired by the bean? How could a bean be copyrighted?” Very true! I love Carolyn’s take on using the actual beans! I’ll check it out.

  2. Ingenious! The colors are beautiful – beautiful in its simplicity. One of my favorite things about the Rancho Gordo booth (and happy when I saw it at the store too!) is that galvinized tub filled with tons of beans. I love running my hands in it. This is like having a little bit of tub…a wearable tub…I want one!

  3. I wanna eat that, haha. It looks goofy on a shirt – maybe because its too large – but it’s pretty nonetheless. It’s as close as you can get to chocolate-coated jewels.
