I was going through my photos of the last year and came across this:
This is what ended up being the winning dish at Cochon 555 in San Francisco by Staffan Terje of Perbacco. I was lucky enough to be a judge and all the food was inspired but the crew at Perbacco really did deserve to win. The funny thing is, with all the lovely pork surprises, what made me the happiest was the pork ragu on the fresh pasta in the upper right hand corner. The pasta was perfection and I forgot how good it can be in a master's hands!
I go to a lot of events. This is one of the very few I love.
