Hot nights deserve good ice cream! Merida has both. Locals love a local chain called Colon and with good reason.
The service is fast and the sorbetas are great. I won't argue about it, but the coconut is the best thing on the planet. It's that simple. Make your scoop a champola by adding the coco sorbeta to a glass and add milk, much like a do it yourself milk shake. It's pure 100% pleasure.
Locals also love their sour oranges and the branch on Montejo had sour orange sorbeta. We had it with soda water instead of milk and it was just short of the greatness of the coconut version.
We found ourselves in the town center and asked for the ice cream but they didn't carry it there and frankly, it was too crowded and didn't smell so great. Better to visit the Montejo branch.
