American Harvest Workshop 2008

One of the most talked about recipes in Heirloom Beans is Brian Streeter's pot pies. Brian is the head chef at Cakebread Cellars. Brian, his staff and the Cakebread family are my heroes so it's always fun to participate in their American Harvest Workshop.

The chefs and participants have a jam packed week but I was involved in the Saturday farmers market where the chefs learn about local ingredients that they'll later use in a special dinner, teaming the food with Cakebread wines.

The dinners are a multi-course extravaganza (I rarely get to use that word) and for me it's one of the year's highlights. I get to see my beans at their best and I have a killer meal.
